Safety and Health Rules

You are expected to follow all safety practices, support workplace safety efforts whenever possible, and report any unsafe conditions or practices to management.

Managers are responsible for ensuring all employees follow all rules, regulations, and procedures necessary for safe work practices, and for addressing non-compliance when needed.

To help maintain a safe work environment, all employees are expected to follow these workplace safety guidelines:

  • Employees may not report to work or remain on the job while under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or other substance that could impair their ability to perform work safely.

  • Horseplay, scuffling, and any other behavior that could compromise safety or employee well-being are prohibited.

  • Work should be properly planned and supervised to help prevent injuries when handling materials or operating equipment.

  • Employees should not work if fatigue, illness, or any other condition may impair their ability to work safely or create a risk of injury to themself or others.

  • Employees may not handle or tamper with electrical equipment or machinery outside the scope of their job duties unless directed or authorized by their manager.

  • Report all workplace injuries promptly to your Employee Relations team so appropriate medical care or first aid arrangements can be made.

  • Use proper lifting techniques when handling heavy objects, including lifting with your legs rather than your back.

  • Before leaving a work area, ensure it has been left in a safe condition.

  • Work areas should be arranged to allow for safe ladder use, including the ability to face the ladder and use both hands while climbing.

Report a Near-Miss Incident

A near-miss is a potential hazard or incident in which no property was damaged, and no personal injury was sustained, but where, given a slight shift in time or position, damage or injury could have occurred. Near misses also may be referred to as close calls, near accidents, or injury-free events. For the sake of a safe work environment, the company asks that all employees report and correct any of these potential hazards immediately.

Please complete this form to report near-misses and assist us in preventing future incidents and making the Company a safer workplace. For questions or cases deemed immediately dangerous, call 317-806-6131, option 1.
